1969 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster
1969 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster. Monza red over black vinyl with a brand-new soft top and original hardtop painted to match. It is powered by a 300hp 350cid v8 4-barrel small block and a four-speed manual transmission. This Corvette was purchased by a very good friend of mine from his friend’s estate.
The mileage of 28,096 showing on the odometer this car is said to be true and correct. I have no way to verify this other than the fact that when my friend Steve was purchasing this car, he told me the story that his friend had purchased the car in 1969 as a used car with a couple of thousand miles from the original owner and that he’d been waiting for the opportunity to purchase this vehicle for years. Unfortunately, he did not have a lot of time with this vehicle himself. But I have to say after 47 years in the car business and
having driven hundreds of Corvettes in my lifetime this car feels like the mileage it states. It is not squeaky, it is not rattley, it is extraordinarily tight. And it has an unbelievable road presence. If you pump the throttle twice and you turn the key the choke sets and the engine starts immediately on high idle.
A kick of throttle and it comes right off. The clutch, the clutch linkage and the shifter are all in perfect sync. Although this car does not have power steering and power brakes the lightness over the front wheels of the small block makes it very easy and enjoyable to drive and on the road it is
absolutely precise, none of that vague feeling of over power steering of vehicles of this vintage. It has just undergone a remarkable repaint and has no flaws in the body whatsoever. When you look down the side of this car straight as an arrow. The motor room is original and not restored and shows very nicely
as you can see in the photos. The bottom of the car is as well very clean and original. This car hasn’t been puffed up for sale it is just as it was built although with a new paint job.
