1984 Pininfarina Azzurra Spider with only 16,035 original miles.

As I like to say over and over and over again please find me another! Here we go a 16,000-mile Pininfarina Azzurra in pristine condition mechanically perfect and it drives like a dream. Finished in Nero (black) over Beige Chiaro (beige) with a Beige Chiaro soft top and boot cover. It came to us from its owner in Miami Beach that I have been told was the second owner of this car. It has had one tender loving repaint, a brand-new soft top and a completely original and perfect interior trim and wood accents. Turn the key and it fires the life, no noises, no smoke, no rattles. The air conditioning works perfectly and is stone cold. The top comes down effortlessly and stows away easily underneath its factory supplied tonneau cover boot. It has its original spare tire and owner’s manual. Please just take a minute and look at the quality of this car, it is outstanding. Look again at the wheels not refinished not repaired but perfect originals. There is no rust or corrosion it has a clean Carfax history report and auto check history report verifying mileage and no accidents. These cars have a wonderful story. Pininfarina most known for his work with Ferrari design this little car in 1964 and it evolved over the years. In 1982 Pininfarina made a licensing agreement with Fiat to take back the little gem that he designed for them so long ago and manufacture the car on his own production line alongside the Ferraris that he was building at the time. The same assembly line the same tools the same man manufactured this car as well is the Ferrari cars he designed. This car is fondly known as the Baby Ferrari! This vehicle has been through our servicing and safety inspection process and is ready for immediate enjoyment.

The Pininfarina 124 story: Azzurra spiders come down the same assembly line as the Ferrari’s Pininfarina was manufacturing. This was Sergio Pininfarina's pride and joy! The term Baby Ferrari is not a misnomer. In 1966 Fiat introduced the 124 Sports Spider, a sports car that is regarded as the most commercially successful automobile in Fiats history. That same year Battista "Pinin" Farina passed away... his son Sergio took over as president of the company. (the family name was changed from Farina to Pininfarina in 1961) Since 1952 Pinin Farina (pre '61 name) had a virtually exclusive pact with Ferrari, the world’s most iconic sports car. Pininfarina made the painfully beautiful and timeless designs for Ferrari that remain the most sought-after cars in the world. In 1982, after more than 50 years of designing cars for other companies, Pininfarina became a true automobile manufacturer, taking over from Fiat the companies most successful design, the Sport Spider. To this timeless sports car design - Sergio added "over 100 design and engineering improvements” and renamed his beauty The Azzurra in America and Spider Europa in Europe. The last of the 124 Spiders had a multitude of upgrades making it the most desirable of all the models.

The Lampredi i4 twin cam motor had a 32-year run. It was used by Fiat, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, and even Morgan: Lampredi was an ex- Ferrari engineer who designed 4-cylinder engines before the Colombo V12 for Enzo in the 1950's. These are tried and true small motors that can go 100-150K miles without a rebuild. One of the longest production runs for ANY motor. When set up properly the motor has proven to be quite durable!
